Benessere Pinot Grigio Napa Valley 2008

Varietal: 100% Pinot Gris

Viticulture & Vinification Notes: Sourced from two vineyards on the Napa side of Carneros, the grapes were hand-selected. Fruit was whole-cluster pressed, fermented and then moved to be aged in small neutral French oak barrels for 4 months in order to acquire mouthfeel without tasting oaky.

Tasting Notes: 2007 harvest was picked late allowing the grapes to achieve full maturity. Called “the best bottle labeled "Pinot Grigio" in this country” by San Francisco Chronicle, the wine has a aromatic nose of peach and summer flowers. The palate is silky with beautiful round mouthfeel. Very ripe fruit with tropical hues of guava and hints of minerality. This is a mouth-coating wine that is balanced by a fresh fruit driven acidity. Delicious with foods such as crab cakes, white fish, soft cheeses and chicken salads.  Awarded 85 Points by Wine Enthusiast Magazine.
